Blayne Soleymani-Pearson

for Washington County Commissioner District 2

I’m Running Because We Deserve Leaders Who Will Fight for Us!

Nilofar and I chose to live in Washington County because of its vibrant neighborhoods and welcoming communities. Over the past year, I have been reflecting deeply on the state of our county, especially the community that I want my children, our children, to inherit. We deserve a Washington County that is safe, welcoming, and full of economic opportunities. Achieving that vision requires courage, dedication, and imagination.

This fight is personal to me. When Nilofar and I got married in 2018, Trump’s “Muslim ban” prevented several family members from attending our wedding. This injustice motivated me to act, and with Nilofar’s support, I became a lawyer to make a meaningful and lasting impact, not just for my family but for our community. Today, Trump is using ICE to abduct members of our community, and most of the current commissioners have simply given in to this administration’s unjust practices rather than stand up and protect us. The current passive approach will not protect our residents.

As the federal administration continues to pressure local and state governments and override our vision for our homes, I am prepared to fight for Washington County residents. As a domestic violence prosecutor, I believe those with the privilege to fight for the vulnerable among us have a duty to act. As a father, I know that families and communities are depending on us to be bold, stand up, and preserve their future.

Washington County deserves leaders who are bold and will take decisive action to protect our neighbors and their civil rights. Our community deserves leaders with the courage and determination to build a future where everyone has a place, safety, and a voice. Together, we can create the kind of county our children will be proud to call home.
